Although AWE is not a dictionary (and those seeking help in this category are well advised to look for depth in a good dictionary, such as OED as well as here), there are times when it has seemed useful to explain various shades of meaning. In particular, the category clarification of meanings overlaps with the category:disambig, which contains articles attempting to sort out different uses of particular words.
- To sort out the differences between the two categories clarification of meanings and disambig since the former was conceived (July 2008) may take some time - and may never be finally accomplished.
- Be aware of yet another possible confusion. The category:disambiguation is NOT the same as category:disambig.
- category:disambig is a lexicographical group
- category:disambiguation is designed more as a navigation tool in AWE.
